Strike Team Nomenclature
The term "Strike Team" refers to a series of multifaceted attacks that utilize different "Teams" to eliminate certain targets within a base so that the remainder of your army can sweep over the rest of the base. The most important Strike Team is called a "Kill Squad." A "Kill Squad" is usually where a certain number of golems, with a mix of specific troops and your heroes, take out either a defending Hero, specific set of turrets, or possibly traps. This category of attacks also includes "Walks" in which the Archer Queen, and now possibly Bowlers, are deployed with a few Healers to take out a specific portion of the outside of the base. Particular pathing strategies are used to have this faction join up with the main part of the attack once the "Walk" is over. These types of attack are the hallmark of high level play. They are first used in TH8 for GoHo attacks and become much broader as you reach high level TH9 attacks and especially at TH10 & 11. For all you clan members just going to TH9 or becoming mid level, pay close attention to and start practicing these attacks as they are your future. The name given to your Kill Squad is used as a prefix and is added before the actual name of the attack you are using aka the what the rest of your army is besides the Kill Squad or the Walk.
ex. Shattered GoHo (where GoHo determines the army composition and Shattered implies the type of kill squad used)
Kill Squad Golems:
*Note: Remember, when using one of the above terms you are specifically referring to a multifaceted attack utilizing a handful of Wizards, Witches, Wall Breakers, and one or both Heroes behind a certain number of predetermined golems. Each one of these attack types implies different requirements for usage like Hero level, troop level, and enemy base design. Since it is implied that Wizards, Witches, Wall Breakers, etc, are used in the Kill Squad, it is unnecessary to rewrite those troops into the actual name of the attack, however, Golems are always included in the army acronym if at least one is used in the strike team.
ex. Shattered GoHo[WiWi] (you would not put "WiWi" in the name since it is implied by Shattered, but you do put in Go)
Walks
*Note: Like Kill Squad prefixes, the Walk label is added to the beginning of the name. It is possible to have both a Walk and a Kill Squad prefix in the same attack name, but when doing so make sure the Kill Squad is always first. Also, it is pretty unlikely that you would have both but things have changed a lot this update so it remains to be seen. Remember, all troops used just in the Strike Team part of the attack, either the Kill Squad or the Walk, are not included in the Army composition acronym except for golems.
ex. Bowler Walk Cold Blooded GoWiVa (incorrect)
Cold Blooded Bowler Walk GoWiVa (correct)
Queen Walk GoVaHo (correct)
Bowler Walk GoBoWiVa (incorrect)
Bowler Walk GoWiBoVa (correct if Bowlers are part of both the Walk and the main attack)
Army Composition Nomenclature
Army Composition:
*Note: No viable war attack uses just one golem during the main phase of the attack. If you are using only one golem then you are 99% likely to be doing a Cold Blooded attack. The other 1% means you're doing it wrong and should reread my attack guides. Furthermore, two Golems or Lava Hounds are implied in a typical attack and therefore it is unnecessary to use a prefix. Never drop "Go" or "La" from the army composition name, however, as the Golems and Lava Hounds must be included in the acronym to specify how many of what tank unit is being used.
ex. Quatro GoWiVa (correct)
Penta LaLoon (correct)
Triple Wiva (incorrect)
Army Composition Acronyms
GiLaLoon (incorrect)
*Note: Barbarians, Archers, Goblins, and Wall Breakers are never included in war name acronyms.
I hope this helps answer your questions about how to technically name war attacks. This post is subject to change and will most likely be updated over time as the war attack meta changes.
